You had an introduction to the resources of Wooster Libraries early in the semester. Let me share a few of the highlights here.
- LibGuide for our Course – includes a link for Research Consultation and many other resources relevant to the course. Follow the tabs for databases, for example
First places to go to find sources:
- The Library web page – with boxes to search CONSORT and SUMMON
- AZ Databases page – a starting point for research – all the databases we have access to
- JSTOR (the best access to academic articles – and now with book chapters)
- Google Books
- Hathi Trust (a partnership that includes a vast number of digitized texts)
- Archive.org (Internet archive, a vast non-profit repository of sources)
- Library of Congress
Research resources:
- Primary vs. Secondary Sources (at American.edu)
- Purdue OWL Research and Citation Resources (see links on various citation sources)
- “Is It Plagiarism Yet?” At Purdue OWL
More databases
- History Databases (a great list of databases for historical research at the History LibGuide)
- OhioLINK (for books available from across Ohio – far more than are available through CONSORT)
- Academic Search Premier (scholarly articles and more – from ebscohost)
- America History and Life (a database of articles in US history, from EbscoHost)
- Historical Abstracts (a database of articles in non-US history, from EbscoHost)
- EbscoHost (select all databases and search for access to hundreds of databases)
